Girls Night Out - Room 231 - Part one

Upstairs far above the bar, Room 231 has been rented for the night of fun and a warning placed on the Door. No one Under 21 allowed inside... And a sign, with large script written so neatly you would swear it was typed saying Girls Night Out in Progress. Men may enter at their own risk.

You can say this for a Command.Com, when they go about making a party they go ALL the way out. Three tables are set up with User-friendly only snacks and booze, Sprite Friendly only snacks and booze, and a rather bare table waiting for booze that the kitsune promised to bring, being friendly to both data and matter beings!

Pillows abound around a big screen TV, over in a corner several bags sit waiting to surprise the people about the come in. Now all that all that's missing are the girls for their night of fun.

"I've never been taught anything like that from such a young age. I went to a school that teaches magic specifically, so most of what I learned when I was little relates to that."

"...I started learning when I was twelve and grew them?" She offers, "My profession is making jewelry?"

Ah, Mia is only seventeen, so twelve wouldn't exactly be long ago.

(Plz to be not kicking her out for underagedness! D= )

"That sounds interesting."

Mia probably wouldn't mind trying her hand at jewelry making.

"I am..."

Well, how does one describe "Guildmaster" as a profession? The title itself is an inheritance, but there is much more to it than a name.

"I am a teacher and a leader by profession."

"That's a good thing." She says cheerfully, "Keon was famous for jewelry in my time? I do a lot more here than I did there, though."

"I like having time to read and sculpt here."

Milliways makes her feel like a normal person.

Here, she's not one of the Five Heroes. She's not the Governess of the Magic Guild. She's not the leader of Vane.

She's just Mia.

"I'd rather have a whole bunch of renSime and Gen to be taking care of, but that's a biology thing." ...Suzi makes most people feel normal.

Biology is not kind to teenagers. Mia seems to be holding up well enough, but, like everyone, she does have days when she misses home.

And Mother.

And Jessica and Luna.

And Nash.

Particularly that last one in recent days.

"I can understand," is what she comes up with.

"Mmm." She says, shaking her head, "I'm a symbiont. I need renSime and Gens or I get really sick. Belar and Garion are helping, but I've been the equivalent of malnourished since I got here."

Oh. There's a problem humans don't tend to have.

"Okay, maybe I can't understand," she yeilds with a smile. And then some concern.

"So there's nothing I can do to help?"

Suzi is human! She's just evolved! "Not unless you can spontaneously start producing or requiring a specific chemical." She says cheerfully, "I'm doing alright, and Belar's tree says it'll get better."

Well, that's why the "tend" got thrown in.

"I've never tried, but I don't think I can do that. At least you are doing better."

"Uh huh." She says cheerfully, followed by, "Do you like fruit?"

"Yes."

Simple question, simple answer.

"This is pilah." She says holding up something shaped sort of lemonish, colored orange, and about the size of a tangerine, "It's safe for baseline humans, Sime, and Gens. It's my favorite." and Suzi takes a big bite, rind and all, before pointing at a bowl of them.

Mia takes one and looks at it.

She takes a cautious bite.

The rind is tart. Not nasty-tart, just tart.

And the inside is sweet. It's a little like orange juice with extra sugar.

"This is delicious," she says, pleased. "Pilah, you called it?"

She wants to make sure she gets the name right for Miss Bar.

"Uh huh! It didn't even start growing until about the same time as Sime and Gen evolved? I love pilah, and so does Whistler." He likes to lick up spilled juice, yes. Yes he does. "So I made sure we got a bunch for tonight."

"Thank you for that."

She ponders the fruit in her hand after another bite.

"I wonder if they can be grown at home," she says after swallowing.

It would be nice to have a supply of them behind the office by the pool.

"I have no idea? You could ask Bar for a dwarf pilah tree?" She suggests, "Something sized for a desk? My home is, um. Hot and swampy, in most places?"

"Not quite the right climate then, but I might be able to do something about that. This could be a great subject of study at the Magic Guild."

Guess she's inheriting the garden too.

"They're pretty easy to grow." She offers, "I wasn't even able to kill mine, and I'm a horrible gardener."

"That's good. I'll be busy when I get home and I might not be the only one tending it. Everyone interested in plant magic will probably want to help care for it and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want to try the fruit."

"Isn't it wonderful?" she says with a happy sigh, "Whistler keeps bringing them for dinner, and it's good."

"I don't think I'd mind it if I got these for dinner all the time."
