The biggest event in Mainframe...

...in a little over a tetrakilocycle, is in the center of Mainframe. The Front Hall of the Principal Office has been decorated in white with pale blue flower motifs into every gather and hanging drape.

Such are the perks to being the COMMAND.COM of a small system. The wedding band is waiting on one of the galleries, and everyone else is starting to file in. It looks like every single resident of Mainframe is coming to the event, along with a few friends from outside the system.

Phong smiles and waits for everyone to file themselves properly.

"We are all here to witness the joining together of Bob and Dot Matrix in the bonds of matrimony.

"There is an old ReadMe file which says: 'The goal in marriage is not to think alike, but to think together.' Dot and Bob exemplify this. No one who knows them would ever claim that they process in the same way, but they complement each other, in times of adversity as well as in times of peace. May this extend to their marriage as well.

"If any sprite knows why Dot and Bob should not be joined together, they should input now or forever hold their peace."

At that Dot just looks out over the audience with a look that just dares someone to try that.

And should someone feel that way...she will bite their head off right here and now so help her User.

He is giving his significant other a very wary look, though.

Silence from the stands. Good, the last thing we need is soap-opera drama. Or setting-inappropriate violence. Cough, cough.

Phong addresses the couple. "If either of you know any reason why you cannot be joined together, speak now."

With no objections from the audience, Dot's happy face is back on. Stoppit. You're not Hex.

She most definitely has no objections to marrying the sprite she loves.

Bob beams right back at her. He'd have to be insane to object to marrying Dot Matrix.

"I believe you have written your own vows?"

Dot nods towards Phong, smiling before facing her fiancee.

"Bob, Guardian 452, I, Dot Matrix, promise to honor you, to cherish and comfort, in times of peace and in times of strife, to love you as you are, for who you are, until the end of my runtime."

For one panicked moment, Bob completely blanks on the vows he spent most of the night memorizing. Then...

"Dot Matrix, I promise to protect you in times of danger, to comfort you in times of sorrow, to celebrate with you in times of happiness, and to love and honor you always, for as long as I continue to process."

Phong smiles and nods at young Enzo.

"The link commands, please."

Enzo, beaming madly, steps forward a little too fast for dignity and holds forth the pillow. The two faintly luminous golden rings lying on it will allow each sprite to transfer a small packet of code and set up a new file association, identifying them to the system as married.

Beaming at the Enzo, Dot picks up one of the rings from the pillow and holds it to the icon at her neck. With a click the inside of the faintly glowing golden ring fills with static as a small portion of her own code enters inside of the ring to be exchanged.

"With this code, I thee wed."

The code-filled ring is placed on Bob's icon, where it slowly dissolves into the disk.

Bob takes the other ring and repeats the process, taking a line of code from his own icon and placing it into Dot's.

"With this code, I thee wed."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss."

He's smiling very broadly. The whole system's been waiting for this for quite some time.

The words have scarcely left Phong's lips when Bob steps forward, wraps an arm around Dot's waist, and pulls her forward into a kiss.

A kiss that Dot meets with great joy in doing so.

There may be applause in the audience right now, but she isn't really noticing that.

After what seems a reasonable amount of kissing, Phong extends his neck enough to be visible past the happy couple and announces, "May I now present Dot and Bob Matrix."
